Remove cap and twist the base to release product. Apply liberally and directly onto the fabric.  Press the fabric together with solid pressure for 20-30 seconds. Let it set for approximately 1 – 2 minutes.  Fabric should stay secure until washed, dry cleaned, or manually pulled apart.

My Style Stick® didn’t work.

There are four key reasons why this may have happened:

  1. Not enough Style Stick®. This the primary reason for fabric not adhering. Remember to apply liberally.
  2. Not holding fabric firmly for the proper amount of time.  It’s important to hold or press the fabric together for 20-30 seconds.
  3. Not allowing fabric to set for the proper amount of time.  Style Stick® must set for at least one to two minutes.  Try to not move or shift the material for at least 60 seconds after pressing fabric together.
  4. Using Style Stick® on closed weave fabrics. Style Stick® is designed for use on open weave fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, polyester, etc. If you are using it on a closed weave fabric (I.E. fabrics that have a sheen, leather, satin, nylon, etc.) then it is very important to let Style Stick® dry for up to ten minutes after pressing fabric firmly for 30 seconds.

It left a white residue on my clothing.

Style Stick® is non-toxic, acid free and safe for all fabric and clothing.  A slight white residue is normal and is easily be wiped off with a damp sponge or cloth. Because Style Stick® is water-soluble, any residue will also come off in the wash or at the dry cleaners.

Can I reapply Style Stick®?

Yes you can.  Simply reapply Style Stick® wherever needed, by following the instructions provided.

Can I reposition the fabric after I have applied it?

Yes you can. You’ll have up to one to two full minutes before the compound starts to completely set. During that time you’ll be able to reposition as needed.  Once repositioned, press fabric firmly together for 30 seconds and let set for one minute.

Will Style Stick® melt in your purse / handbag?

It is not advisable to leave Style Stick® in extreme heat for extended periods of time.

How many applications do I get per stick?

The exact number will vary depending upon the fabric type and the size of the area being treated.  The average number of applicaitons is 50-100 per stick.

Will Style Stick® dry out if I don’t use it regularly?

No. As long as you put the cap back on properly after each use, Style Stick® will not dry out.

Is Style Stick® safe to have in contact with skin?

Yes, Style Stick® is non-toxic, acid free and safe for use on skin.  When using Style Stick® to adhere fabric to skin, it works best in dry climates as the humidity and perspiration can cause the compound to break down and not work as effectively.  It’s also important to apply Style Stick® to clean, dry skin that is free of any lotions and/or oils.

Will Style Stick® “bleed through” or discolor fabrics?

No, Style Stick® will not bleed through or discolor fabrics.  There may be a slight white residue which will come off in the wash or at the dry cleaners.

How long will Style Stick® hold a hem or fabric in place?

Style Stick® is a temporary adhesive that’s designed to hold fabric in place until it is washed or dry cleaned.  If it should come loose for any reason, simply reapply.
